"Situating Crossley-Holland's Collection of Ancient Musical Instruments: Strategies for Interpretation, Dissemination, and Sustainability"

My PhD investigates three aspects of Crossley-Holland's collection: what the objects can tell us about their original contexts in ancient Mexico; what the circumstances of their collection were; and how the instruments could be used in the future.

My main interests lie in the ethics of keeping and using such a collection so far away from their original setting, and how musical practice can be injected back into their existence.
